AI Resume Analysis

How ResumeMatch Works

A transparent, step-by-step look at how our AI analyzes your resume and generates actionable feedback.

Step 1

Paste the Job Posting

Copy the full job description from any job board or company career page. Paste it directly into the chatbot—no file uploads needed. The more complete the job posting, the better the analysis.

What our AI extracts: Required skills, preferred skills, experience expectations, educational requirements, key industry terms, and role-specific language.
Step 2

Paste Your Resume

Copy your entire resume or CV text. Include all sections: summary, experience, skills, education, projects, and any certifications. The AI needs the complete picture to provide accurate feedback.

What our AI extracts: Skills mentioned, roles and responsibilities, quantified achievements, impact statements, project descriptions, and educational background.
Step 3

Fit Scoring (0–100)

Our AI computes a weighted fit score using a five-category rubric. Each category receives an individual subscore with a brief justification based on extracted text.

CategoryWeight
Hard-Skill Match30%
Experience Relevance25%
Proof of Impact / Outcomes20%
Keyword & ATS Alignment15%
Narrative Clarity & Focus10%
Step 4

Keyword & ATS Analysis

The AI compares your resume against the job posting's keyword requirements. You'll see a clear breakdown of which keywords are present, which are missing, and specific recommendations on where to add them in your resume. This is critical because most large employers use Applicant Tracking Systems that automatically filter resumes based on keyword presence.

Step 5

Feedback & Edit Suggestions

You receive structured, actionable feedback including strengths, gaps, a priority action plan, and concrete resume edits. Edit suggestions include before-and-after bullet rewrites, summary improvements, and skills section reordering.

Important: ResumeMatch never fabricates experience or credentials. All suggestions are phrased conditionally (e.g., "If applicable, consider adding...") and are based solely on your existing experience.
Step 6

Iterate & Download

After your initial analysis, you can ask follow-up questions, paste a revised resume for re-scoring, try a different job posting, or download your full analysis as a PDF or text file. Repeat as many times as you need within a single session.
